Hello everyone,
If you've seen my portal post, I'm sure you know what's going on. If not, go check it out. But I'd like to get people's opinions on what's going on with FTW. Please post them here, and vote in the poll.

Obviously I'm all for a reboot, but it just seems that for a reboot we don't really need to do anything. Just invite back older members and shamelessly advertise on other forums (I've been doin the latter on a Marriland's when I play Platinum). Just let FTW run its course and if it's meant to be it will be.
No, I don't want to do much at all. Just clean it up so it looks nice. That's it. I don't even care if we advertise. I just want all of the old members to return, and I'll be happy.

first off before i say anything i must say im not going to sugar coat this im going to say what i think and you can take it as it is. i agree with parts of what fire said we need all the old members that cared for the site and will come back and STAY UNTILL.... well a really long time there is really no sense in changing the site drastically such as the layout or name keep it the way it is however the forums need some major cleaning up old forums dated before x month of x year need to be deleted not moved DELETED the basket also deleted out dated forums such as E3 2008 or 2009 can also be deleted. while on a deleting spree can the sign members that have never shown up be removed? like there is one for you cory that was added when the site was first moved here but it says that you never came online there are several that are that way. before we move on to new members and promoting the site on other sites can we first secure our old members all old members are (IMO) going to be key in rebooting the site i dont see just a few of us doing it i could be wrong. i may sound greedy in saying this but i would just like for the site to be just for us and old members i mean thats really whats its been the entire time just us small group of friends playing brawl and shooting the breeze. can we go back to that? the group of friends play instead of brawl but any online game. Food for thought what made the site so great that we always wanted to be here and can we recapture that? i say yes we can but what is it? i guess i have said all of my thoughts i feel like i have forgot something but that is it for now. i hope that we can all still meet on the chat to continue our nightly gaming that we have done for the past few days

Well said Jody! I may consider coming back if this were to happen. By coming back, I mean re-creating my profile and re-joining this site again
My take on all of this Cory, is to keep the Xat chat for now and like Jody said, delete everything else that is either unnecessary or outdated. The forums section could be an optional use for many users; they could either provide game help from other members if they're willing to share or just a tool to discuss certain thoughts. Nothing mandatory, but its there and free.
As for what online gaming, I think tournaments of any kind should be held off for the moment; at least until we get enough members. I will say that I do spend more time on my PS3 than on my Wii when it comes to gaming in general but I'll still join you guys in a game of Brawl. I realize that the majority here doesn't have enough funds or just no interest in purchasing games as they used to. But it would be awesome to see a few members do online with other games besides Brawl; it can get boring I guess if we could just post up a topic such as"what online games do you own?", we'd get a good idea as to what we can do during online events. Just a thought.
So far, I'm glad to see a few old members return. I guess were going in the right direction here so far Either way, summer's upon us (at least in the US) and that means we'll see a lot of people, maybe even old members, return.
As long as you promise to stick around this time Cory, I'm in The site's back-round is a little dark in my opinion, but its up to you on that one. I hope that it works out this time, maybe bring back tournaments? It is a great way to bring the members together. BUT don't start them right off. let the site get back to where it was (or further)
If you need help, I'm always here.
Maybe, get rid of some of the old posts so we can start fresh?
also you'll want more then 5 people actually voting!
Nice to get opinions from some of you. Here's a list of what I've done so far-
Moved over 20 topics to the basket Deleted nearly all sub-forums (except in the newsroom) Deleted "Site Standing" Deleted a fair amount of pointless/old topics Moved many topics to the proper forum Cleaned up the portal Reduced the ticker messages Changed Forum names and descriptions to make them a little more simple Changed restrictions so guests can post
I haven't deleted any members yet, not sure how important that is just yet...but I'll probably clean it up soon. Here are my future goals-
Reunite as many old members as possible Make the site as simple and fun as possible
And some thoughts- I frankly DO NOT CARE about advertising at this point. I just want all the old members back. If others wish to advertise, feel free, but I just want our friends back first. Tournaments would be nice, but lets get everyone together first and chill like we did in the good old days.
Just hope they join sometime soon and not get too comfy with posting as a "guest" all the time. Still, it's a nice way to bring new people to the community. I guess it's a way for them to get used to the water before swimming in it.
@Cory - I've also started cleaning up a bit today and discovered the forums are already looking much better! Keep up the good work!
Wow! I should have made my "last" post sooner! (The funny thing is, I posted it the day before April Fools completely by accident! Lol! )
Ditto Jordan (although I wouldn't mind seeing a new face every once in awhile(or should that be avatar? lol!)
I really think that tournaments should be held off until we have more members(Ditto Luis) - every time we try them they fall apart quickly.
It's REALLY good to see you all again! I'll try to post some more when I have the time!
P.S. Does anyone know what happened to either BrawlBro or the Pqjrs? It'd be awesome to have them back too. Speaking of which, I may be able to get in touch with Battlecry.......
Yo people I'm hungry and cant find my smilies Should we add some new ones?

Oltronus.
Train of thought:
1) They put xat back on? *deity* is that ironic…
2) Wait; they only started all this rebooting stuff a few days ago? I get bored at all the convenient times.
3) Shouldn't there be an option in the poll about it already having died and this seeming pretty sad, but that if people still want to revive the forum, one has no objection and wouldn't judge them?
4) Guests can post? Great, I don't have to wait for the chat to load, although they should really just make a "Guestbook" forum or sub-forum somewhere instead of letting them post anywhere.
5) Maybe giving things a bit of a brighter colour scheme than gun-metal grey would help alleviate the feeling that it's a graveyard in here.
6) I wonder if anyone else will realise that you can't recapture the thing that made it work originally, since it was excitement about Brawl coming out and the desire to play it and talk about it somewhere that was completely exclusive and devoid of hate; and even that caved in when someone disagreed with the majority. Maybe if a new Smash game was teased at E3 or something…
7) Should I put my name in the post? Hmm…nah, I'm sure someone'll end up checking my IP anyway. Though I guess I can't colour it in, in that case…dammit.
I wonder if anyone will read past number 3 with enough of a mind to pay attention to what I'm saying after that.
9) 6 is kinda long…Still, least it's not as long as I used to write single paragraphs.
10) Maybe I should leave subtle hints through the post…
Soliss!
P.S - I don't recall if it's admins or Forumotion that can alter it, but it says "You must enter a unsername…"

I don't know man. I honestly think that the Gunmetal works good wit the site. Plus from what I can tell it isn't even that dead or a graveyard as you want to call it.
Besides if anyone wants to attack me based on my opinions then fudge it! I'll just leave this shit. Ain't like I'm forced to stay here. But like GUEST said, keep it up FTW! Theres always haters.

Thanks for the support everyone. The revitalization process is beginning to slow down as the site is quickly coming back to life. The most recent changes were made by Silens, who created the member profile page which is of course open to any registered member with 100 posts or more (don't worry about that Blitz ), and the chat page, which will hopefully make chatting and posting at the same time a little easier. Otherwise, I think the main thing now is to simply keep an eye on the forums for old/dead topics, make sure the guests behave themselves, and just plain enjoy ourselves. I also plan on sending out a mass-PM today to invite all old members back.
No worries about the speed. Just as long as we accomplish what we seeking here; reunion with old members, fun online experience, and ridding the site of the bad and childish drama. These things take time but it'll pay off in the end. Also, I wanted to talk to you about new chat possibilities. Seems like Xat may not work afterall. I'll PM you with details Cory just as soon as I'm free to discuss it in greater detail.
Again, thanks for all your hard work and for the support of a few certain individuals. Let's work on making this place a better community.
The mass PM was released yesterday, I'm sure you all got it. It seems to have brought both Zotendo and Everlong back, which is just fantastic. Lets hope others follow along. You know, I think we inadvertently picked the ideal time to do this, as E3 hype has really helped peak everyone's interest in gaming conversation. When we all got together last week it was a total coincidence, but I'm glad it worked out that way.
I agree completely Blitz, it is in everyone's interest to take things slowly at this point. Lets just sit back, relax, and enjoy ourselves.
The site is definetly flourishing now, after it being only me, smashed and jody for so long. THe the time of writing there are 11 members on which is incredible. Even more is that on June 8th, there was a whopping 52 members on! I'm sure that's a record! Most of the users online are guests which leads me to believe that allowing guests to post is a great idea. The only problem with this is that they may just stay guests as there's no real reason to join if they can already post. Maybe there should be some sort of cap on guest posts or only one sub-forum where they can post. Just throwing out ideas, tell me what you think.

Yeah, I didn't get that PM...at least it got to members who it was meant for.

I was checking out the site a few times a month over the winter, and thought it was completely dead. When I checked it the other day I was shocked by how busy it was all of a sudden. Congrats on a job well done.
@Fire - I know what you mean! After the last year or so, this really is incredible! Nice to see we're still a strong group.
@Fire & Blitzsword - As far as limiting guests......there's a saying about not fixing what isn't broken. I'd prefer them to sign up myself, but it wouldn't make a huge differance. I think that guests should not be allowed to give/take reputation points, but that should be it, at least until we've had a chance to see how things turn out over the next few weeks.

It's great to see everyone who's come back! I agree about the need to take things slowly for now - no tournaments or things like that. Maybe if the site starts to drag again we could try something informal like G&C Nights, but until then I feel we should leave well enough alone.
P.S. While I don't have much time to be on lately, I should have more time to post again soon, so don't think I'm dead or anything!!! (I might possibly make it this week..... (we need a "praying" smilie Waar!!!)

It's nice to see people are visiting again. For some reason my account was deleted, so I didn't feel like making a new one when I last checked the site, since there weren't many posts in a while (I created a new one today).
