I would post this in my other topic about E3 but I feel that just on Nintendo news needs its own topic because of so much that was announced. Starting off with Legend of Zelda not a lot was shown other than that motion plus works (without interference that is) new weapons like a whip and bomb flyer (not really sure what to call it). Yes the graphics were not the same as TP but if sonic 06 has taught me anything its graphics don't make a game good.
Also I wish that more of the story was told because we see link with what looks to be a master sword but I know that its just a demo and demos are just to show the game off and are not 100% complete. All and all I am very excited to see a confirmed zelda wii game.
Moving on to new games for wii. Dk country returns was a suprise to see a return to roots much like new super mario bros wii and sonic the hedgehog 4. Goldeneye was the biggest eye opener for me (not a pun). Fans wanted it and they got it but better with updated graphics and online. Metroid got a new trailer and that's about it. Finally kirby epic yarn.
Now I really like kirby for his ability to eat an enemy and gain its power but I did not see that in the trailer sure it showed him as a robot and ufo but that's not the same as kirby 64 and imo best kirby game. Redo that game but better.
No new Nintendo home system was announced but the 3DS was. Thought still a DS its redid with new set up plus analog stick and what I believe looks to be gamecube equivalent graphics. A step up from the regular ds. The first game that was announced for the 3DS is a new pit game. I'm sure that every on notice that pit and several other things looked almost the same as it did in brawl.
Going back to the 3DS there was a TON! Of games announced for it other than pit. Just to name a few. New mario kart, Zelda OoT, star fox 64, just to name a few Nintendo games. A few 3rd party games include dj hero, splinter cell, assassin's creed, MGS 3 snake eater, and street fighter 4. And the list goes on and on. Its a lot to take in nintendo has really took the show for me and gets my vote and screwattack.com vote as winner of E3. Well that is my thoughts on nintendo's E3 what do you guys think about NINTENDO ONLY?

I've got to agree with almost everything you said bro! Although admittedly, The Legend of Zelda game's style could have been better but that's not to say I won't give it a chance. I'm sure this game will be a masterpiece as were its past iterations. The live demo at E3 didn't worry me as much since I knew that interference played a huge role in the ordeal. Again, my only minor gripe was the art style which I'll get over soon. As you said, I'm really interested in learning more about the story. I did catch that the "Skyward Sword" soon becomes the Master Sword later in the game.
As for GoldenEye, I'm really excited about it. Just looking at the preview, I knew it was a remake of the original with new flair added for more in-depth story and gaming experiences. The graphics didn't bother me as I knew the vids won't do this game justice. All in all, this is a bought on sight for me. Nostalgia and remake of a classic; what could possibly be better?
DK and Kirby look interesting, but I'm not really a fan of either of those franchises. What did impress me though was Nintendo's dedicated fan-service to all of the veteran gamers who clamored and begged for these series to come to the Wii. I can say that I'm grateful Nintendo is starting to listen to these fans.
On to the big one, the 3DS. I can't wait for this piece of win to hit stores. I know the 3D feature is something I have to see for myself but I can tell you that it doesn't even come to my mind. I'm more excited for the games this handheld will sport. The graphical capabilities this baby has shown us is amazing and I'm sure it hasn't even reached its potential. But when you look at Snake Eater, Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, and Mario Kart, you've got to wonder what else Nintendo will come out with. I just wish they'd remake Turok 1 & 2 for either the Wii or the 3DS.
Great thoughts Jody! This was an interesting read!

Sheesh Luis! Remember when I made that joke about how great minds think alike way back when? I keep coming to make a post on E3 just to discover you already posted it for me! Lol!!! I totally agree on LoZ and the 3DS. To me 3-D is mostly a gimic, (though a more interesting one than motion control IMO) but the games & quality already have me hooked.
The point I'm not totally in agreement on is Goldeneye (just because I've never played the first game, though I've heard a lot about it.)
Also, enjoyed reading your post too Jordan!

Lol! Well, Smashed, what can I say? The three of us (Jody included) have a ton of common ground I believe that's what keeps our online community together and makes it all the more enjoyable to be.

i found this its kind of interesting it tells a little bit of skyward sword story however the site is zelda wiki meaning can you really trust it? you decide [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
also when you watch zelda trailer watch links hand when he grabs the sword
I think the overall consensus everywhere is that Nintendo won E3 this time around. Quite impressive, considering how badly Nintendo did before. Hopefully they can keep this momentum going..especially since they seem to be putting all their cards on the table now...makes you wonder what they could possibly have in store after all of these titles and the 3DS are released.

I think the overall consensus is that it's some sort of race, or fight, or contest, as opposed to a trade show to begin with, if you ask anyone actually paying attention to it. Unfortunately, that probably includes the game companies as well.
In any case, Nintendo did have the best show of the three titans; and it also has a slightly positive hindsight benefit on the last few years. While MS and Sony have now gotta go through the awkward phases of trying to convince everyone of their console's motion control capabilities and worthwhile, Nintendo had not only gotten out of the gate early, captivating everyone and making it seem viable because it simply hadn't been done before.
Now they've had their bad showings, have made the Wii's controls as good as possible and behind the scenes of all that, their titles have been simmering at a low heat for long enough that they can just deliver punch after punch. The fact that Skyward Sword wasn't even trying to be the big draw was point alone. When I watched and saw that they were bringing it out first, I knew they'd have some big things in store.
You're spot on with your post Roy. It's no trade show. It's a race/fight because it's a business. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft aren't going to play nice with each other unless it'll profit them in a tremendous way. Even that is a long shot. Competition will always exist in this industry no matter what. Unfortunately, it'll also affect the consumer in terms of taking sides and creating false loyality, much like we see with the console wars. You've got your Sony fanboys, your XBOTS, and your Nintendo feaks, all who'll defend their company of choice under the pretense of making themselves more secure of what they own rather than why they own it. And yes, the same goes for game companies. It's no surprise really, we see this with cars, politics, banks, insurance companies, any corporation or business you can think of. Business is business and in the end, your money is all that matters to them.
