So there's this musician called Gotye, who's basically the best thing musical I've seen come out of Australia, ever. He's got a new album coming out on Friday (and you can listen to the whole thing [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]), so I figured I'd see if I'm crazy to like this music or not.

This is a video of his currently (and, I think, all time) most popular song, which has hit #1 on Australian charts. So I think it's pretty good, but I might just be weird.

Thank you for introducing me to to Gotye, Roy. I was sold on him when I first heard 'hearts a mess'. Sadly, I had forgotten about him over the years, but I am definitely into the new stuff. He has a very wide range of musical ability, it seems. I'll definitely get a hold of his music one way or another. Though I probably should support him as opposed to how I usually get a hold of my music (*cough* mediafire). Have you ever thought of seeing him play live? Seeing a musician you love live is pretty much the best thing in the world.

I was planning to go to one of the shows that he's doing for the Making Mirrors release, but alas, I am dirt poor. Even a show at a local festival is $130 or so to get to (though it's the entire weekend that pays for) and when I checked a couple of weeks ago, was on its final run of tickets.

Until the next tour, I suppose. I'm imagining I will have a job that doesn't screw me over every chance it gets by that point.

Bummer. Most shows that I have been to have never cost me over $50. But I guess it really depends on the venue. How long will he be touring?

Hmmm I see he's playing in Los Angeles (and it's only $15). To bad he's not adding anymore US shows, I'd go see him. It's also a shame that nearly all of his other shows are sold out!
