WiiSpeak information

in the link below there is the release date of WiiSpeak for Europeans - because that is very important and for americans- meh... also, there is info about it in case you dont know what it is and/or what it does.

I believe it's coming out next month in the U.S. with Animal Crossing...and you can use it with it's own channel, with up to 4 people...but i could be wrong...

Well I just hope we can use outside of games also!

Yeah, it would be awesome, but I'm not sure if it's possible...I'm not even sure how it works exactly...I know it's not a headset-more like a speaker you place on top of your TV that projects everyone's voices...the goal was to make it less private so parents could hear what their kids were saying I believe...

Well IM the parent here so it doesnt matter for me lol. I just wonder if the distance between me and the wii speak will be ok

Well it should be on your TV, and I believe the volume is adjustable, so i think you'll be ok....I just hope it's as clear and useable as Skype.

ya but the problem is that my tv is quite far from where I sit usually and it might give more sound of the game then my voice. But if I remeber correctly they were trying to do it so that it would only or mostly recognize voice rather then sound. I wonder hhow there gonna do that

I'm not sure if it will happen..I know it requires its own channel to work, and i believe that channel is only compatible with Animal Crossing so far...but I could be wrong...actually, I hope I'm wrong...I'd love to be able to talk while brawling...

If I remember right they ask the maker of the wiispeak and ask if it was gonna be compatible for MK and brawl and he said no (at the time). But he said that most of the games thatsgonna have online would be using wiispeak. Well at least N games.

yeah, I doubt it will work for brawl and kart unless it uses the USB port at the back of the wii but even so it might not be compatible. I hope it is though, it would be awesome to talk while brawling (you could shout at the opponent just before he/she uses the dragoon so they mess up )

but yeah, i doubt it'll work for brawl, which really sucks...they simply waited too long for this. I mean, it's cool that it'll work with AC, but it needs to be in other games as well, and truth be told, Nintendo doesn't like making online games very much...hopefully it'll be compatible with games like The Conduit.

mabye Nintendo could sell a new disc to SSBB owners that is compatible with WiiSpeak. anyone who already has brawl would get it for less but others would get it for the original price! mabye that's too wishful thinking!

I think its to wishful for the price thing but for making another one I dont think it would be too good either since brawl already has a problem with lag! And if you try to add this I dont think it would be better. Plus I wouldnt pay another 50 bucks to hear cory since skype is free lol

Well I didnt had time to get on the pc to much these past few weeks so thats why I didnt use it and I guess people dont use it now because they cant hear my lovely accent lol

Wii Speak is free with Animal Crossing, so if you're getting that game (which i imagine a lot of you are) you don't have to worry about costs. Besides, it sems as though it will be more convenient than skype anyway...actually, now that I think of it, Wii Speak alone is a good enough reason to buy AC...it really is a good value for only $50.

So then I guess AC is quite cheap by itself! Did they say they were gonna give wii speak with other games too?

No, I think you can either get it with Animal Crossing, or by itself...but I do know that it will be compatible with nearly every game that comes out after AC does, so again, it might be useful for that reason as well.

there was an update not to long ago but im not sure what it did
