Better. The Wii has 3rd party problems, sure, but so did the Gamecube. Here's my reasoning:
-The Gamecube had 1 exclusive Final Fantasy title, the Wii has 6 exclusive Final Fantasy titles. Overall, the Wii has at least 3 times the amount of RPGs than the GC had.
-The Gamecube had 4 stand out survival horror games (RE 0, REmake, RE 4, and Eternal Darkness, all of which I own), the first 3 are already available on the Wii. As it stands, the Wii has more survival horror titles than any of the current consoles, and it's the first time the series Silent Hill has ever appeared on a Nintendo console.
- Good action titles. Sure, there are only a few on the Wii, but I very much enjoy MadWorld and No More Heroes.
-Online. The Wii's online is nothing to brag about, but if it weren't there, would this site even be up?
-Wiiware and Virtual Console. Seriously people, I'm done hearing about crappy Wii games when you haven't even looked at the Wiiware offerings that the console has. Downloadable titles this gen have proven more enjoyable than disk releases for me this gen, and I'm not saying everyone will feel this way, but at least give them a chance.
-Truly unique titles. I'm talking the Munchables, Little King's Story, Zack and Wiki, The Bit. trip series, Excitebots, and World of Goo. Ya know?
Sure, the Gamecube had some gems like Viewtiful Joe and Eternal Darkness, but overall the Wii just has a better library of games. You just need to check that library out.
