Anime Central 2014

It's not for ages and it's not near enough to the date that Cory's come out of hibernation, but I'm starting the thread now anyway. Why?

Because registration is now open and I am going again!

Cory, when you want, you can just hijack this post with whatever actual info you think should be here.

So who else is coming along for 2014?

I'm sure I will be going back (but not for the convention I need to get a poster back... Skye knows what I'm talking about... Cory too.) All joking aside I'm sure I will be able to return.

I've already got a third of the funds I need for my plane ticket saved; this should be a piece of cake (he said, optimistically).

Hey guys, sorry I've been missing in action... In addition to currently working two jobs, my macbook finally died, making my access to the internet rather difficult. Fortunately though, I got a tablet for Christmas! It's not the ideal way to be online, but it's better than nothing!

Alright, so everyone's favorite time of the year is fast approaching: May and Acen 2014! As those of you who are coming likely already know, it'll go from May 16th to the 18th. Having said that, it'd be nice to know exactly who's coming and when they plan on arriving and when they plan to leave.

Another thing to mention is that there will likely be more people this year than last, and things were fairly cramped at my apartment before. Having said that, there is the possibility of getting a hotel room(s). This would certainly be more comfortable and convenient, but would be more expensive. I'm fine either way, but it might not be a bad idea for everyone to weigh in on this.

Oh, and as you guys probably remember, the earlier you register the cheaper it'll be! Oh, and as fun as it may be, registering online means you won't have to suffer through linecon! (Well, at least not at first lol)

So yeah, feel free to let me know guys. I'm open to hearing ideas if anyone has any.

Oh hey look who is still alive! I have my badge ordered but nothing travel set up just yet mainly because I did not know if staying at your place was available again. Seeing that you are ok with it I will look into some flight details. As far as hotel rooms I don't care but I would really hate for you to waste money on it because you don't have to.

Wow, that's great! Looks like you're already a step ahead of everyone! Do you have any idea what day you'd like to come? It'd be nice if everyone could come slightly early like last time; I'd like to have a bit of time to hang out prior to the con. And yeah, my place is open as always, I just thought I'd mention the hotel idea since people had brought it up before. I'm open to anything, really.

As far as travel you can expect almost the same as last year late afternoon Wednesday then early Monday

And for your information, I was one step ahead of everyone else ages ago; got my flight and my badge paid for almost two months ago. I'm set to arrive on Tuesday at about 7pm and leave 2pm on Monday (to Florida to visit other friends, oh snap!). Sorry if that's gonna cause some problems for you, Cory, I really couldn't afford to keep waiting.

With luck, I'll have plenty of money saved up by May, so if the cost of a hotel room split amongst us all wouldn't be too much, I could go for it. That'd save $15 a day on parking and however much on fuel, at least.

And I think I have a plan for buying more merch this year and not causing problems with packing for the return trip.

EDIT: Okay, so I just took a quick look at the hotels available; and there's basically nothing. Everything is already booked out, so it looks like we may just have to be a little cramped this year.

For six people, though, checking in on Thursday and checking out on Monday, it would've costed somewhere around $1200 for the full stay. Just as a reference for next time. There's always the option of booking for one or two people and then lying about how many of us are staying there, but I get the feeling that wouldn't work out too well.

I..um have some bad news. I sadly will not be able to attend ACEN this year.

I kinda mentioned in our little chat the other day that I could send my badge for you guys to have it will save the group 55 dollars. I really don't mind sending it but here is the thing who is going to use it? (I will let you guys fight it out)

I'm still so bummed that you can't make it! >_< I'm not sure if Cory has registered yet, but I'm pretty sure everyone else has in the group aside from myself. I had no idea there was a cut off date ... well or that it would be so soon (forever procrastination).. If everyone else has already registered and wouldn't need a pass, I'd definitely take you up on your offer. I was thinking if you sent it to me, send along a 'wish list' of sorts and I can sort of pay you back with some ACEN goodies (along with your poster LOL). What do you think? Also, does anyone else need a pass?

Haha I might send a little extra cash If I ask for to much. I do not have the badge yet it should not be to much longer now till i get it.

I didn't realize that there wouldn't be any more mailing dates past a certain date (same as Skye). I'm basically in the same boat that I'll have to pick it up at con. :/
